Please note: Many of our patients will be able to see the doctor and collect their medication all in one visit to the surgery.  Regulations do not allow us to offer this service to patients living within one mile of a chemist's shop (this  mainly affects patients in Shinfield, Spencers Wood and Three Mile Cross). The Practice Map identifies the areas that are within one mile of the chemists in Shinfield and Spencers Wood. Collection of dispensed medication from locations other than Swallowfield is only possible if we have received the prescription charge due or are satisfied that we know the reason you are exempt from charges. If you wish to collect your medication from Shinfield Pharmacy we will need your written authorisation to release your prescription to them - they have a form for you to complete.
 Please allow  48 hours (two working days) from submission of your repeat prescription request to collection.
 Orders placed on the weekend will be ready on Wednesday unless there are any intervening Bank/Public Holidays.
IMPORTANT -- Many people can get free prescriptions. You should check whether you are eligible.
People who have to pay for more than 5 prescription items in 4 months, or 14 items in 12 months, could save money by buying a Pre-Payment Certificate (PPC). From 1 April 2011, the charge for a single prescription item is £7.40, whereas a 3-month PPC will cost you £29.10 and a 12-month PPC £104.00. To apply on line please click here
